Jotform automatically filling in email address

we have created forms that asks for the person filling out the form to insert their email address. to gain access to the form on the tablet we are using we are required to be logged into Jotform despite all the privacy settings being unticked. The issue is Jotform is automatically filling in the email address with the one used to log in (it is an association account) whereas we want this to be provided by the person filling in the form who will not be using that address. How do i turn the automatic fill in function off.

Upon checking, I see that your form is currently set to private.

You can change it to a public form by following the process here: https://www.jotform.com/help/1205-how-to-change-the-access-settings-of-a-form/

I cloned your form and can now enter my email address manually. Can you please check if this is still an issue on your end after making your form public?

that was a silly error to make. we had corrected that earlier on some forms but omitted to do the rest. thank you for your help.

sorry to raise this again. i have made all forms public and the app that holds them public as well. all the privacy settings are un checked. But it still requires the recpient to login. what5 others setting are there that i need to change to remove this requirement.

I tried to access your app on my phone via the URL https://www.jotform.com/app/220038591723857, added it to my home screen and I was able to access your forms without asking to log in.

Are you maybe sharing your app via invite by email?

If yes, then this will require a login. You can simply share your app URL https://www.jotform.com/app/220038591723857 with your clients.

If this is not the case, please let us know.

i am sharing my app via email invite. seemed the logical thing to do. But if i need to just send a copy of the link instead i will do that. That does seem a rather odd outcome that the email invite results in a login requirement and a link sent via email does not.

anyway, i expect we will manage our way around it

The "Invite By Email" is actually for adding assignees to your form. This feature is useful if someone needs to fill out your forms regularly, such as people who report to you.

The Jotform account is required to monitor the form responses of, or entries collected by, an assignee.

If you only need to share your form via email, you can simply email the form's URL.
