Salesforce Password

Salesforce requires their users to reset their passwords every 3 months. For the 3 forms we have that uses that user's credentials, do we have to redo all of the form fields? How would this work?

    Hi there,

Unfortunately, that's not possible. Because at the moment, every time the password changes, you will need to re-authenticate the integration with the new credentials.

I'd also suggest that you contact Salesforce themselves to see if they have a way of preventing your password from expiring. This is because every time your password is changed, you also need to re-authenticate the token here on our end. That requires you to log in.

I hope this information helps. If you need further assistance, please don't hesitate to reach back out to us. Thank you!

    Hi Samuel,

Thanks, but does that mean ALL of the fields that were setup needs to be redone one by one or do we just need to reauthenticate and everything will work fine?

    Thanks

    John

    Hello,

    I apologize. I believe I wasn't that clear before.

You might need to remap the fields again since the authentication will be disconnected once the password has been reset. So basically re-authenticating includes remapping all the fields again.

This is also why we're looking for ways from Salesforce's end to prevent the password from changing because password change will also remove the token created on our integration which will disconnect it and make you re-authenticate and map all the fields again.

I hope this helps. If you have further questions, please don't hesitate to get back to us. Thank you!

    Hi Samuel,

Thanks again for your replies and thoughts.

Unfortunately, Salesforce and many other companies will always say it's "best business practice" to change the password often. Microsoft also does this same practice and many other companies.

I wish there's an easier way this can be done with API. Do you know if Zapier does it differently from Jotform?

    Thanks

    Hello again,

To be perfectly honest with you, I'm not sure. It may be possible that Zapier does it differently.

You may also want to try it with them and see if they can do what we need to do even if the password is changing in Salesforce.

Here's a link to their integration, if that helps: https://zapier.com/apps/jotform/integrations/salesforce
