No, it is not possible to password protect the shared grids. However, their URLs are impossible to guess. So, unless you link to them from a public page, I don't think anybody can find them out.
We already have this on our suggestions list by the way. So, we might consider adding an additional password protection in the future.

I think the password protection would be a great addition. I would prefer to use JotForm for many of my projects, but being able to tell clients that their data is secure because it is "password protected" trumps "impossible to guess." In the meantime I have to use other form builders because they offer the Public/Private/Password feature.
