Tax / percentage amount on top of custom payments

Asked by cheekyface on April 28, 2014 at 10:14 PM

    Hi Guys.

I understand it is now possible to add tax to products but I also noticed that it's not possible to do this for custom amounts.

I need to be able to calculate tax or add a percentage on a custom amount that is entered by the person using the form.  Any chance this will be possible some time soon?

    Hi,

Thanks for posting this into a separate thread. We got what you mean now. We have now raised this as a feature request for a consideration. Hopefully, our developer will be able to add it on the payment wizard soon.

    Thank you!

You can achieve this by using form calculation widget and custom payment.

So first, you have to create your product items using regular checkbox, radio or dropdown fields. Then calculate the total value of your products using the form calculation widget. Then pass the total value to the custom payment. Here's a guide for that: https://www.jotform.com/help/275-How-to-pass-a-calculation-to-a-payment-field

On the form calculation widget formula, you can define there a fixed tax fee or you can create a condition to charge a tax base on the selected country on the address tool.

    Fixed tax:
