Using {edit_link} as a working hyperlink in an email

{edit_link} puts the url of the form and data in the email as plain text.

I want it instead to be a clickable hyperlink in the email.

I have tried the "insert/edit link" button and typed the variable {edit_link} in the Link URL field. The hyperlink that appears in the resultant email has invalid text (res://ieframe.dll/syntax.htm#/) preseeding the URL and the link action fails. I am using with Outlook Express as the mail client.

Any ideas as to what I am doing wrong?

I have switched to text mode as suggested and that does work.

Yes, there is a problem with that. We will look into that.

For now you can use the "Switch to Text Mode" button to make your email text based. On text based emails email clients usually convert the URLs to clickable links.

Can I be notified when this problem with the HTML version of email alerts is fixed?

Any idea of when this will be fixed?

Is there an expected date as to when this may be fixed?

No, it may take a long while. We have very long list of small issues like this.
