    Hi,

I checked your form https://www.jotform.com/40854718109155 and can see you had already embedded the Geolocation Widget on it.

Are we good to assume that this is resolved already?

Please inform us if you need more assistance.

    Thanks!.

    Hi,'
Thanks for the note--but if the map is embedded, why do I not see it ? The
map still shows the default location, not my address in Boston.
    Thanks!

    Hi Andrea,

I just realized that you were not using the Geolocation widget on your form https://www.jotform.com/40854718109155

It was actually an embedded TEXT(html) with the google map embed code.

this method will not be able to capture your location IP -- it will only get your google account if you are login to google when you open the form.

To make the google map locate your location, use the Geolocation Widget instead.

Here is demo form you can test http://www.jotformpro.com/form/41306683530955

I have added the Geolocation widget and your original embedded google map on the form. You can compare how they work.

Hope this help. Inform us if you need more assistance.

    Thanks!

    Hi,
Thanks for adding Geolocation to my form, but I have no idea and can't
figure out how to make it a useful map rather than a map of theEast Coast
with a red marker. Sorry I am so dense about this, but I need things
    spelled out for me.

    Hi Andrea,

I just want to clarify, I have not added yet the Geolocation widget into your form

The demo form http://www.jotformpro.com/form/41306683530955 I showed was my form.

When you open my demo form, where is the Red marker located?

It should automatically moved according to your geographical location.. example, it should be in "Roxbury MA" if you are currently located there.

In my case it is like this

Can you please also elaborate further what is suppose to be the purpose of your Google map on the form?

Do you only want to show in the Google map the location of the event of the Registration?  Was it suppose to be only a "fixed" address/location?

    Thanks.

    Hi,
Thanks again for all your help. Here's the thing. The red mark does show
up in Roxbury, but that is not particularly helpful to my workshop
attendees. I want them to have access to actual directions to the site. I
can easily do that with a link to Google maps, but thought that the map
that displayed on the template did that. What I see now is that the
Geolocator map only shows where in the world the event is, without the
detail of a google map. I think I may just go the link to maps route and
    keep it simple.
Thanks you for all your attention to this, though. I really appreciate it.

    Hi Andrea,

If you want to show a specific location of the event then you can embed google map to your form to show where exactly the event is.

So for example if your event location is in Interstate 5, Burbank, CA 91502, USA, this is just an example address.

    1. Click on Properties and Share and Embed Map

    2. Click on Embed Map then copy the Iframe code

    3. Use the Text tool and Paste the Iframe code.

    4. When you test your form you should be able to see the location selected in google map. So no need to use the link of google map because you can embed it into your form.

We have developed a Widget for this very purpose - Show Map Location

Its easy to configure, plus you can add the exact address text right on the map!

Please try it out and let us know how it worked out for you.
