    After submitting a form, are Users able to update/edit their answers themselves?

    Asked by CameronGrantRIAA on August 06, 2011 at 11:53 PM

    Hi there,

    I am interested in your JotForm tool.  One sticking point is that I am unable to locate the functionality whereby a user - who is external to my company, and therefore not allowed to be given Admin access to MyForms - is able to update/edit their own answers after they have submitted their form?

    This functionality is very important to us.  As the answers in the forms are required in order to apply to one of our programs, some key qualitative responses require editing by the applicant after we have conducted our initial review of their responses.

    Can the unique user form be re-loaded?

    Can the user login to view their responses without seeing other users' forms?

    Do you have some suggestions please?

    Hi Cameron,

    To allow users to edit the form after submission you can use the {edit_link}
    tag within the Auto Responder email.

    First you need to create an Auto Responder then add the {edit_link} variable
    in the email's body. Once a user submits the form they will receive an email
    which contains a  url link to the pre filled form. If they click on the url link in the
    email this would open up the form with pre filled data and they can modify/update
    their answers.

    Hope this helps let us know if you have clarifications.

    Regards,
    Mliz

    I also am finding this feature very exciting. My forms need to be updated each year, is there a way for me to send the auto responder to the client at the time the update is needed so that if they were to delete their auto responder I could simply send them the autoresponder when it was time for an update?

    Is there a way to save the "edit link" variable with the saved data so that it will be included in the downloadable excel file?

    @horsesineducation
    Our form builder does not have any feature to set an auto-response to be sent or re-sent after a specified period of time.

    @felipe_sasa
    Not to my knowledge.
