Unique ID field for counting submitted forms

is it possible to include a form conter on the form  each time that particular form is submitted it would update , if this can be done, can the number range be set for instance the first submission wouuld read 00001 or maybe abc 01 this would be very useful as I would be able to use this a  reference number

Yes - you can add a form counter field (hidden to the form user) as shown below:

You can customize the unique ID field with a text prefix, number padding and the index (where the counter should start)
