My submissions looks overlap online and don't import correctly to Bento as CSV

Asked by cardiffbooks on August 10, 2011 at 06:26 PM

    Hi there,

My form creates submissions which, wehn looked at online, seem to be out of line with the field title. As well as this, as soon as I extract the CSV file into Bento the Bento importer mixes different field and repeats the same response over various fields. It is as if there is an overlap in both areas. I wonder if this is a common problem or if the problem relates to just my forms? Where am I going wrong.

    Thanks in advance, Adam

    Hi,

I am not quite familiar with Bento, but judging from how Microsoft Excel and OpenOffice Calc displayed the CSV file of your form's sampe submission, I am certain that the problem lies with Bento.

This particular submission entry has fields that do not have values. When translated to CSV, these columns are blank. Excel and Calc does not have any problem with this, as shown in the screenshot below (I transposed the columns to display as rows):

I am pretty sure that there is an option in Bento that will help you fix this problem. I suggest that you contact their support department for more information.

Anyway, just to make sure, can you try filling out the blanks in the CSV file to see if it's still the same? Thanks!
