How to have the same data appear in a different form?

    Asked on May 26, 2014 at 8:09 AM

    Hello,

    Is it possible to have the results of this form (length of audiofiles + price): http://www.jotform.com//?formID=session show up in this form: http://www.jotform.com//?formID=41373944717360?

    The first form is a calculation tool for a quote, this will guide them to a page on which the new form is shown, which is a checkout/payment form.

    Also, I'd like to know what the mx. amount of mb's is which can be uploaded into the upload field.

    Thanks a lot,

    Jack

    Hello Jack,

    You can take advantage of our "Field Prepopulator" app to build the pre-populate URL for your form. This will help you prepopulate any fields of your form. You may also like to check the following guide which should help you achieve your requirement:  http://www.jotform.com/help/71-Prepopulating-fields-to-your-JotForm-via-URL-parameters

    Once the form is submitted, do you want your users to be redirected from your calculation form to payment form? In that case here are the steps you should follow:

    1. Find the field ids of your first form which you want to use in second form. The following guide should help you field field names and IDs:  http://www.jotform.com/help/146-How-to-find-Field-IDs-Names

    2. Find the fields names of your second form using the above steps.

    3. Add the URL parameters in the second form URL.

    4. Set the custom thank you page URL of your first form which will redirect the user to the payment form once the form is submitted. The following guide should help you:  http://www.jotform.com/help/38-Redirecting-Users-to-a-Different-Page

    Hope this helps.

    Do get back to us if you have any questions.

    Thank you!

    New response receivedOk, thanks but how to have the data the client enters into the first field showup in the second form...I created this url: http://form.jotformeu.com/form/41373944717360&LengthofAudiofile%28s%29inMinutes%5Bprefix%5D. I can’t enter the = part because that will be the number that the client enters/calculates. So how to solve? It should be prepopulated with that variable number.

    Hi,

    Can you please tell us which of your 2 forms you wanted to do this.

    If I understand correctly this is the target form (or 2nd form) -- http://www.jotformeu.com/form/41373944717360

    Which is the source form (or 1st form)?

    Also, can you confirm that what you wanted to do is to pre-populate the field "Lenght of Audio files..." with value from the 1st form?

    We will assist you do it on your form once we know this details.

    Thank you.

    New response receivedThanks for your great support.
    Yes, that’s the right form which needs to be prepopulated with this source form: http://www.jotform.com//?formID=41422380995357
    The fields are: Length of Audiofile(s) in Minutes and Price (USD).
    Thanks again,
    Jack

    Hi Jack,

    This is the correct URL. Just set this as the thank you page URL on your first form.

    http://form.jotformeu.com/form/41373944717360?lengthOf7={lengthOf}&totalIn9={priceusd}

    How to have the same data appear in a different form? Image 1 Screenshot 20

    So the 'length of audiofile' from your 1st form will be populated to the same field name on the 2nd form. And the 'price' field will be populated to the 'total' field on your 2nd form.

    Let us know if you still need help about this.

    Regards!

    New response receivedWorks when pointing to the form directly like suggested. However, when pointing to the url on my site: http://www.yourtranscription.info/checkout as the thank you page; and from there integrating the form with the following code: , it doesn’t prepopulate the fields. Any suggestions? The website is this: http://www.yourtranscription.info
    Also, I noticed when visiting my site in explorer the form doesn’t respond correctly, however in firefox and chrome it does.

    Hello speejack,

    Upon checking your first form, I found that you have set the Thank you "Custom URL" as "http://www.yourtranscription.info/checkout". Please check the screenshot below:

    How to have the same data appear in a different form? Image 1 Screenshot 20

    As explained by my colleague, please set the second form URL with parameters in the thank you URL of your first form. Please use the following URL and it should populate the data to your second form fields:

    http://form.jotformeu.com/form/41373944717360?lengthOf7={lengthOf}&totalIn9={priceusd}

    Hope this helps.

    Do get back to us if you have any questions.

    Thank you!

    The url of the 2nd thank you button is set to the url you suggested. Are
    you trying to say the url of the first button should point to
    http://form.jotformeu.com/form/41373944717360?lengthOf7={lengthOf}&totalIn9={priceusd}
    and not to the checkout page? From what I understand, everything is set as
    you suggest in your email..

    Could you also tell me how to change the 'bladeren' button text to:
    'search' and how to change the 'geen bestanden geselecteerd' text on this
    form: http://www.yourtranscription.info/checkout
    And, how many mb/gb can be uploaded through this button or is it unlimited?
    Thanks,
    Jack

    Hello speejack,

    Upon checking your first form #41422380995357, I found that you are not yet populating / sending the length and total to your second form.

    I have cloned your form and did the changes. Please take a look at the following form and see if that works as expected:  http://form.jotformpro.com/form/41533671626960? This will redirect you to your checkout page and also populate the fields.

    You need to add the URL parameters in your form's custom thank you URL. The thank you URL of your first form should be :

    http://www.yourtranscription.info/checkout?lengthOf7={lengthOf}&totalIn9={priceusd}

    Please check the screenshot below:

    How to have the same data appear in a different form? Image 1 Screenshot 20

    Alternatively, you can cone the above form in your account. The following guide should help you in form cloning:  https://www.jotform.com/help/42-How-to-Clone-an-Existing-Form-from-a-URL

    Thank you!

    Are you trying to tell the first form should have the suggested url set as thank you url?
