Is there a way for the person completing the form to remove an attachment if they select the wrong file and then add the correct file?

    Hello jricheson,

I am not sure if I have understood your question correctly.

Do you want to change the file attachment while the user is still filling up the form or you want to change the attachment after the form is submitted?

If you want to change the file attachment while user is still filling up the form: You can simply click on the "Choose File" button of your file upload question and change the selection.

If you want to change after the form is submitted: Yes it is possible to change the file attachment but you will have to edit your submission. If you want to allow your form submitter to edit their submission data, here are the steps you should follow:

    1. Add an auto-responder in your form. Check this guide:  https://www.jotform.com/help/26-Creating-a-Form-Autoresponder

    2. Add {edit-link} tag in the content of your auto-responder email template. Please check the screenshot below:

Once your user submit the form, they will receive the auto-responder email with the edit link. Clicking on the edit link will open the same form with submitted data which can be changed by user. The following guide should help you:  https://www.jotform.com/help/40-How-to-Let-Users-Update-Their-Form-Submissions-at-a-Later-Date

    Hope this helps.

What if the user wants to just delete the attachment altogether, before submitting? For example, for an optional attachment, the user selects a file to attach, but before clicking <submit> decides she doesn't want to send that file; is there a way she can delete it?

    Yes, this is possible.

If you are using a single file upload field then the user can click on the Select File button again and choose a different file or click on the Cancel button to clear the field.

If you're using a multiple files upload field then the user can click on the "X" button that shows up when you hover the mouse cursor over the file you want to delete from the field.
