    File Size Upload Limitations

Asked by btaylor36 on August 14, 2011 at 03:42 PM

I searched the forums and the user guide, but I'm still unclear on file size limits and how it relates to the types of JotForm account-i.e free vs. premium vs. professional

Obviously a 500+mb file I tried to upload failed because I have a free account with 100mb limit.

Now if I upgrade to Premium, I get 10GB, but is there a cap for individual files uploaded?

Could I, in effect, upload a single 10GB file--which I'd never have to do, but what's the maximum file size per file for a multiple file upload form?

When You Add The Upload Feature Click Properties And Find Max File Siz Then Edit It To The File Size You Like Per File. Hope This Helps

    Hi btaylor36

The largest file a user can upload is 1 GB. Of course, this would not apply to users on Guest and Free plans because the total space on each of those types of accounts is only 100 MB.

Thanks for asking. If there's anything else form related with which we may assist you with, please be sure to let us know.

Hang on... After reading the last part of this blog entry, I'm not sure if my response is correct. To quote, "File upload size per submission is now increased to 1GB". If you have a form with a single regular upload button (as opposed to a multiupload button) the largest file a user can upload is 1GB. However, according to that line I quoted above, if there are several regular upload buttons on that form, the total size of the uploads must not exceed 1GB. The same would apply to a form containing a multiupload button: the total of the uploads must not exceed 1GB. At least, that's the way I understand it.

Allow me to make an enquiry to our higher ups about this and get back to you. Whatever is correct needs to be clearly stated on our Pricing page.

Thanks. I think you fully understand my conundrum.

single file upload = 500mb max

multifile upload = 5 x 100 max or any multiple therof

I think I know what the answer is but the only way to verify would be to upgrade to a pro account and test it trial and error.

Perhaps someone with a pro account could verify this for us.

Perhaps I'll try to upload 5 files of 100mb each on my free account and assume it extrapolates upward

I checked our server configurations Currently, maximum size for uploads is 1 GB. It is the total. You can have a single 1GB file or 10x100MB files.
