Do the forms automatically clear the user's data after submission?

Asked by valeriegruiz on August 15, 2011 at 05:12 PM

Do the forms automatically clear the user's data after submission? Or do I need to add a "clear form" button?

I have placed a form on my website, but every time I return to that site, I see the data that I typed in on that form from the previous submission.

    Thanks for your help!

    Valerie,

Yes, the forms are automatically cleared for every user and for each computer/device. The reason why the data you have entered are still there when you press the Back button in your browser is because browsers and HTML forms act that way. This is implemented as a safeguard for when the user's internet connection is lost while submitting the form, so that you won't have to re-fill the fields.

You can try that with any other html form and still get the same result. One thing you can be assured of is that everytime your form loads for a user, the form will always start anew.

Contact us again if you need more help or information. Thanks!
