Autoresponders have major formatting problems which are rather annoying

    Hi there,

I love JotForm but as with all things in life there are a few niggles here and there.

In the autoresponder area of JotForms, when I write out my text and give it some formatting (links, italics, bolding, font, and font size, etc.) it all looks fine, but when I click finish it manages to mess up on its own!

Things that change mainly are font size. I'll set up the autoresponder all correctly but when the emails sent it certain text will be the wrong font size.

I'm sure this is an issue with the HTML and I could go there and fix things but essentially I don't want to do that because - another problem - if I go to the text view and then go back to rich text view all my formatting more or less disappears.

The only workaround I have found so far is to create my autoresponder text and right before I click finish to change the font and font size to something and then back to what I want it to be and then click finish. If I do that it more or less works, but it's a pain on the workload.

In any case, I hope you guys give the rich text editor for the autoresponders some attention, and also some of the other features people are asking for like the ability to send out more than one autoresponder to the same person, periodically after the sign up (first autoresponder goes out when they sign up, the second after a week, or at a set date and time, etc.)

    Anyways, good luck with everything,

    Cheers!

    Hi,

We're sorry to hear that. But there are things to consider why was the formatting automatically reverts to the default one or looks different when you receive it:

-An HTML formatting is created outside the Jotform and pasted into the message area. Note that some HTML formatting aren't supported there for security reasons.

-Closing tags or a character is missing.

...it all looks fine, but when I click finish it manages to mess up on its own!

-As mentioned above, make sure to format the HTML inside the Jotform autoresponder message area. I have tested it here and couldn't replicate the issue so I have the impression that you have created the formatting outside Jotform.

..if I go to the text view and then go back to rich text view all my formatting more or less disappears.

-That is because Text version doesn't have an HTML formatting at all. Switching to HTML from Text Version doesn't bring back the formatting. You may consider re-creating your form notification then.

the ability to send out more than one autoresponder to the same person, periodically after the sign up....

-Unfortunately, this is currently not available/possible into our current settings. I see that you already requested this one and it's currently on our queue. If there are updates one that, you should be able to receive an email via that request thread.

-For now, you may consider integrating your form to email campaign systems like Mailchimp.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.

    Thanks

You can test this form: http://www.jotform.me/form/41575975318466 to see the formatting. Make sure to provide a valid email address so you'd receive the autoresponder email.

    Thanks
