Can I add text to a text area using condition?

I am using a form where I ask what Program the student is in. Depending on the answer, the instructions are different for the form. I cannot fit the instructions in a text box but would like to fit them in a text area. Is this possible?

You can use Text field(html) instead of text area to get your instructions according to the programs.

I've tested and applied some conditional logic to use textarea but failed at last.

Please let us know if html Text field works for you, otherwise we will assign this to next level so that they can find the best workaround for you.

    Thank You.

I tried but each area of instructions are so extensive that I really need a text area. In this form, it asks if the student started the program before 2013 (yes/no) and also which of the 6 competencies the student is studying. This could mean they get one of 12 seperate instructions for their specific program. Below is an example of one set of instructions for one competence. Appreciating any help you might be able to give.

"A minimum of 120 credits total and 32 course equivalents total. Course equivalent is defined as 3 semester credits

for transfer courses and 4 semester credits for Prescott College courses.

A total of 10 upper division (UD) course equivalents:

 8 UDs in competence taken at Prescott College:

 Senior Project (SP) = 2 course equivalents

 At least 6 more course equivalents in competence

 An additional 2 UDs, either transfer course equivalents or Prescott College course equivalents, that can be listed anywhere in the degree plan

Competence: 16 minimum course equivalents including Senior Project (approximately 60 credits)

Breadth 1: 8 minimum course equivalents (approximately30 credits)

Breadth 2: Liberal Arts: 8 minimum course equivalents (approximately 30 credits), with a minimum of 2 course

equivalents in each of the following: Social Sciences, Humanities, Math/Science, Communication/Writing

Capstone Eportfolio Lab: Co-requisite with Senior Project

Ecological thread: All courses have an aspect, at least one course has major component

Social justice thread: All courses have an aspect, at least one course has major component

Other graduation requirements: math proficiency, research paper, graduation eportfolio

*See the Student Handbook for a complete list of graduation requirements*

    Important note:

All courses and credits presented on the approved degree plan must be verified by the

Prescott College Registrar prior to graduation."

Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,

As you have found out already, you cannot use the TextArea field in Condition statements that allows insert of text/words/phrases into the field. I understand your problem with the Textbox field due to its limited number of string allowed.

I will submit a feature request ticket to our higher level support for them to evaluate if its feasible to allow insertion of data/text into the TextArea field using condtion statements.

For the meantime, you can actually also have a grid like this input data into your form

    using the Spreadsheet Widget http://widgets.jotform.com/widget/spreadsheet

maybe you may want to try the Spreadsheet widget also while waiting for updates on the request ticket I submitted just now.

Hope this help. Inform us if you have further inquiry.

    Thanks!
