Uploading Photos on a mobile deviceAsked by amhomelife on June 11, 2014 at 01:31 PM
Many of our forms require photos to be attached and uploaded. After reviewing the forum, I see this has been an area that needs improvement for both iPads & Android products.
I testing our Jotform links on an older Android Tablet, using the Chrome Browser, the tablet just locked up and could not send me back to the original application link, this is not good, is there a way to ensure the user can atleast go back to the application if the photos can't be uploaded?
Secondly, I tried to use the generic browser that is available on the tablet, the photos looked like they were uploading fine and I was able to advance to the next 3 upload fields, but then i received the error message: You have uploaded an invalide image file type" whereas in my application, I do not have the "validate image" option selected.
Also, in noting the url link of this particular form, it varies from all the other url links in our account.
Can you please let me know when Jotform will have this error corrected and becomes "mobile friendly"?
Thank you so much.

Thank you for contacting us.
Are you using secure form when you upload files on your mobile device? If yes, try using the http version of the form and see if it works. Have you also tried using Firefox? What android OS version are you testing this so we can also try it here?
Regarding on the file extension validation, try replacing all the file extensions on your file upload property with just asterisk symbol *. This accepts all file extensions except php and other executable files so this might help. Maybe the image from the mobile device has different file extension.
Let us know if this doesn't help. Thanks!
