    Jotform Updates ! June 12, 2014

Asked by Jeanette on June 12, 2014 at 01:29 AM

    Greetings JotForm Users!

Summer is about to come to the north hemisphere. Time to soak up the sun, to hit the beach or to have a vacation full of adventures with family/friends!  But before having fun, let's check this exciting list of of new updates!

    NEW FEATURES

    1. PREVIEW BEFORE SUBMIT WIDGET
Users can preview input data before to submit!

Ever wanted that your users were able to preview what they were about to submit?  Your dream has come true!

It is with much pleasure that we present PREVIEW BEFORE SUBMIT , our most newly widget!

As always, find it under Widgets Menu, drag it and drop it anywhere in your form:

You can choose the Button Name and decide whether to Include Empty Inputs or not.

Here it comes the excitement....your users fill it out and click on "Review Entries"....

....and viola!  A preview of data input

Feel free to test my demo

    2. JOTFORM TAB FACEBOOK APP

Use this cool app, it will create a tab for your Form in your Facebook page! Click on the image for more detaisl.

    3. CONDITIONS FEATURES

You asked for it, we heard! drop-down on Conditions Wizard is wider!

The drop-down lists have been made wider to fit the content for more easy reading in the conditions wizard. So, if you are managing fields with very long text, this will be shown completely or will be wrapped up at a farther point.

Apply conditions on Terms and Conditions Widget

Terms and Conditions can be included in any rule of conditions.
For example, you might want to show the submit button when the check box is ticked
    http://form.jotformpro.com/form/41618754262962

Of you might want to show a message "You have accepted our Terms and Conditions.."

For any case, just use the value  checked in the rule

    4. AUTO-COMPLETE WIDGET
Set it as Unique Question to limit submissions
The Auto Complete Widget could not be selected as a field to limit submissions on the Unique Question option at the Form Limits-Preferences.  Not anymore!

    5. DATE/TIME FIELD
Change date separator on email notifications

We all know we can set the Date format in 3 ways:
    mmddyyyy
    ddmmyyyy
    yyyymmdd

Now, it's possible to set the type of date separator to show this on email notification!

Choose the Option in the Form Builder

    Result in Email

    6. FIELD MANAGER ENHANCEMENTS

Duplicate a block of fields after more than one field at once
(Very useful while building long surveys!)

Our Field Manager already had the capability to select multiple fields to be duplicated in 3 ways:
    At the Bottom
At the Top of the Form
    After a field

This was so cool and it helped our users to quickly build a large form. But, what if you had to perform this after more than one field?  You could not do it at once.

No more hassle with that!  From now on, you can select multiple fields at once from the drop-down by holding the Ctrl key and selecting with your mouse. The block of duplicated fields will then be added to your form after each of your chosen fields. Cool!

    7. JUMP TO AN SPECIFIC PAGE UPON OPENING A FORM URL
Sometimes our users need to have their users to jump straight to a page.
This can be done now, by using the jumpToPage variable in the url

For example, if we got a 3 pages survey

We can make users to open the form and jump straight to Page 3,  this way:
    http://form.jotformpro.com/form/41596815689978?jumpToPage=3

    8. CALCULATION WIDGET ENHANCEMENTS

    Average function is now added

You can find it in the "Other Functions" list in the calculation wizard.

Find the avgNOZero()  function listed there!

Calculation Widget can be set as "Required" from Toolbar

    9. GOOGLE DRIVE INTEGRATION: Add custom folder name
This is a so much requested feature. Now it's possible to make custom folder names in your gdrive.
User are able to use submission data in folder name string. The default fields for this integration are :
    {id} for submission id
{form_id} for form id, as in the past.

But now you will see more options depending on the number of fields you get in your form.
For example  in this form,   we have chosen 2 different variable tags, rather than submission ID or Form ID

The new custom folders in your gdrive account, will look like these:

    10 PAYPAL
Add sales taxes to your Paypal Order Forms
    Also available for Purchase orders.

We are happy to inform you that it is now possible to add sales tax to your Paypal or Purchase Order form!
You can choose which products are to be exempted of taxes.

    11. AUTHORIZE.NET

You may now choose which email field to use  in Authorize.net integration!

    1.  Select your payment field
    2.  Right-click then choose Show Properties
    3.  On the properties window that pops up, select the field to use under "Email Field"

     12. EXISTING COOL WIDGETS YOU CAN USE
    All States and Cities

    Dynamic Dropdowns
Many people have asked for this feature in the past.
We used to give them workarounds using conditions such as on this thread
Now, we are proud to announce Dynamic Dropdowns widget, which link a series of dropdown boxes that automatically change available options depending on what is selected previously.

A typical example would be a booking form:  Each ticket comes with different privileges. When a certain ticket is selected - the options in consecutive drop-down boxes changes to reflect the options available for that ticket.

I've had my share of complaints about Jotform shortcomings in the past, Google Drive custom paths being a MAJOR sticking point for me. I am SO happy to see this has finally been addressed. THANK YOU.

We have renamed the widget to a beter name. The new is name is Preview Before Submit

We believed this name is much better and users can find it easily. I think I'll make an update to my Updates, once we got this polished. Our designers are working in the Icon design.

    Cheers!
