Self hosting (form source code)

We are taking the route where we are hosting the source code of our form ourselves.

We have made adjustments to jotform.js in order to add custom rendering and validation.

Can we expect our jotform.js to keep working in the future when the web based version gets updated? I am asking because there seems to be some interaction going on between our self hosted jotform and your online service. Will it always be backwards compatable with older jotform.js versions?

    Thank you for contacting us.

You need to download and re-embed the code every time you make changes to your form. I'm not sure what you mean by "backward compatible" but some of the features added (e.g. conditional logic, widgets, etc.) may not work if you are going to use the old script on the modified form and vice versa. The downloaded js script will not be updated automatically when you make changes to the form.

I hope this clarifies your question.
