It doesn't save your uploaded documents :(

Thanks for informing us. After reading your thread, I also have tested the 'Auto Fill feature' with your issue. You're right, now it's not possible to keeping the file at file upload by enabling auto fill setting.
I have already forwarded your issue to our back-end developer. They'll sure look into it and fix it, if it's possible.

I'm afraid its not possible to auto-fill upload fields, this is because it is assumed that a different file needs to be uploaded each time.
However, please tell us more about what you want to accomplish and we will suggest additional solutions for you. Thanks !

I think this is a huge issue if you're building a platform using jotforms. Especially if the form is document intense. I think it's a huge issue.

As mentioned above, this is because file uploads widget is not included in the auto-fill feature as it is assumed that a new file needs to be uploaded each time.
