Will not let me sign e-signature box after I click Edit Submission

Asked by Danielle  on June 25, 2014 at 03:31 PM

When I click “edit submission” the form comes up in a new window and I can normally sign my name with my mouse in the “compliance staff member signature” box at the VERY bottom of the form.  It will not let me sign in the signature box from a PC, phone or tablet.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you for contacting us.

Unfortunately, we do not support edit signatures functionality using mentioned Submission Edit links. We can submit a feature request ticket to our Development Team, but we will not be able to provide any ETA.

There is also a Smooth Signature widget, and such fields can be filled upon submission edits from a form Submissions page.

Is that something that might work in your case?

I have always been able to sign when clicking "edit submission" in the email that I receive.

Could  you explain the process that a smooth signature widget would entail? Would I have to sign from within JotForm vs. opening the email notification of a form submission?

This is correct, it is possible to edit the Smooth Signature field via JotForm. In other words, edit the entries via the form Submissions page.

If this is not enough, please let us know. We can attach a feature request ticket to this thread. Thank you.

That allows me to sign but I don't see the signature from the edit view or in the email notification.

Yes, whenever the signature is edited it won't send the new signature on it, if you are using e-signature

If you use smooth signature, the new signature won't show at the submissions page, but it will be sent via email.

I would recommend you to use 2 signature widgets (smooth signature)  to accomplish your scenario.
