Looking for payment suggestions

    Hi all,

We have a form in which we are selling tickets to an event, and also asking for donations toward setting up a scholarship template located here.

I have set up a calculation tool and the appropriate fields to allow users to buy a number of tickets and donate whatever amount they would like and then send the total to PayPal.

What we would like to do is give the user the option to spread out payments only for the scholarship donation. Unfortunately, using the subscription option in PayPal is not quite what we are looking for since it does not give the user the option to input a total and choose how many months to split it up. Do you have any suggestions on how to approach this?

    Hi,

Unfortunately, the payment combination you're looking for is not doable with Jotform. It is not just possible to have the two options, donation and subscription to be on a single form.

You may however consider using a different form for subscription payments.

Should you have any other questions, let us know here.

    Best Regards!

    Thanks for your response.

I know I can set up multiple forms for various payment options and embed them, I regularly use them for our forms, and although a bit clunky when running reports, works fine.

So let's stick with the subscription payments and forget about the donation section. Is there any way for a user to select how many months they subscribe to something? I know I can set the number of months for the subscription, but what if we would like them to choose?

What you could do is offer a couple of different plan levels as individual products for an incremented amount of time. This would give them the choice of how long they want it to go on for in that way.

    Example: http://form.jotform.us/form/41765886605164

However, If you are looking for something more user-choice based then no that is not possible as of right now though I would be more than happy to add this as a feature request on your behalf.

You can add a donate option as a product. I do it all the time. This is one of my forms. Hope this helps.

    Hello lilbit,

Yes you can add a donation as a product which will solve your problem. I did check your previous questions and it seems the discussion was related to subscription payment. As my colleague have mentioned already that it is not possible to allow user to further configure the subscription payment for duration of the payments. It is only possible to configure it form the form editor.

    Thank you!

    Thanks again for your feedback.

KadeJM, If you could add the request to allow user-based choices, I would appreciate that.

lilbit, I had the same thought, but it doesn't allow for multiple months like the subscription does, which I think is our main issue at the moment.

For now we are going to give them the basic options and if they want to split up the payments, they will need to contact us to initiate that transaction.
