Hi,

This is not a feature inherent to Jotform.  You could set up a script to automatically adjust the width based on the number of characters in the field.  But this would take a bit more work that simply adjusting the field width.  If you could let us know the form ID# you are working on, we may be able to help you with some CSS injection that could allow for this.
