Widget that displays lat & long for non-public road locations

    Hi,

I am looking for a modified version of the Address Map Locator widget. This widget allows you to type in an address, which it then displays the Lat, Long, Province and Country. On the other hand, the Geolocation widget allows one to place a marker on a specific geographical location on a Google map but does not display lat & long coordinates.

I am looking for a combination of the two widget that will allow me to place a marker on ANY geographical location (as in Geolocation widget) yet display lat, long, province & country as in Address Map Locator.

Therefore, a farmer could put the marker on the exact location of his cowshed that could be many miles away from a public road and display the lat & long data. We could then download the CSV file and copy the lat & long and other data to our GIS system.

    Any suggestions?

    Rob

I have opened a ticket about the widget request. Thanks for such a great detailed explanation and the explaining clearly how you would use such widget. It will definitely help us implement the widget.

We will get back to you when we have such widget.

Thank you Aytekin for such a prompt reply.

Do you possibly have any timeframe as to how long it will take to get such a widget or for a tweak to be made to the Address Map Locator widget to provide such desired functionality? Or maybe do you know of a work-around to provide this information within a Jotform form?

I have compiled a large and complex questionnaire for which Jotform would be an excellent application to use, baring this one mapping constraint. My sample population is largely rural people in remote areas of southern Africa who live some distance from a public road or close to a dirt or non-hardtop public road, many or most of which google maps does not take into consideration for its address location service.

Apparently, tweaking the mechanics of Address Map Locator widget to operate in the desired manner is not a huge task to deliver this functionality, according to a GIS expert that I have consulted.

    Looking forward to your response.

    Hello Robert,

Unfortunately we cannot provide you an ETA on this. I did check the ticket status status and found that it is marked as important and already assigned to one of our developer. That means our back end team is already working on this new feature request. We hope that this feature will be released soon.

    Thank you!

    Hello,

    Please check http://widgets.jotform.com/widget/location_coordinates

Location Coordinates gets both the address location and geographic coordinates, which is then submitted as text and as a CSV file.

Give it a try, and share your experience with us.

    Cheers!
