Entries into fields in Dynamic Matrix widget showing up as brackets

Hi all,

I set up a form for new student registration titles Lower School New Student Registration. I utilized the dynamic matrix widget so that the parents can add more than one child if they need to. My problem is that on a couple of the responses, the Student Name and Grade fields in the widget have just shown up as brackets, no names or information.

I tried to edit the responses, but they did not update; the information just turned into brackets again once it was submitted. So far only two responses have had this happen, everything else has come in fine. Any ideas on why this may have happened?

Please correct me if I am wrong, but I believe you may be referring to the matrix widget being used on this form. I tested this problem and it is as I suspected. You are receiving the brackets because of the Empty Data which was not added to your form before submission since it was blank. Because of this you wouldn't be able to edit it either since there is no data to be edited.

Here's an example demographic screenshot below of what I mean by that. In the green I've highlighted the sequence for adding it then submitting it then the data should appear. Whereas if the data is entered but not added by clicking the add button then it will not be included when the form is submitted since there is no data thus it shows up as an Empty Bracket " [] ".
