I have 3 forms pointing to the same google folder (applicants are submitting 3 forms, and I have them all sent to one Google Drive folder to keep their materials together). This is working spectacularly well. BUT all the pdfs of the 3 forms have the same name -- the name of the folder plus .pdf. Is there any way to edit the name of the pdf that each form creates in the folder?

    Hello Kristen,

Thank you for contacting Jotform Support. We apologize for the inconvenience it has caused you. It’s easy to customize the file name. Let’s start!

    1. In the Form Builder, toggle the quick access menu at the top beside the Jotform logo.
    2. Click the PDF Editor from the options.

    form-builder-open-pdf-editor

    1. Click the Layout Settings (paint roller icon) in the PDF Editor.

    pdf-editor-customizer-button

    1. Go to the Customize tab, and scroll down to find the PDF File Name option.
    2. Click the pencil icon in front of the current name to edit the filename.

    pdf-editor-file-name-edit

    1. Toggle the Form Fields dropdown, and check which element you wish to be the filename. The PDF Editor automatically saves your selections.

If you wish to delete an element from the File Name box, hover over the field, and click the icon.

Give it a try and let us know if you need any help.

Whataburger’s breakfast menu with prices isn’t that big, particularly when you relate it to other fast-food chains like Panera Bread and McDonald’s. But we have to admit that it’s one of the best we have tried. Whataburger Breakfast Menu 2022

    Marlon,

Thank you for the detailed information, but this does NOT change the name of the pdf form that is saved in Google Drive.

I have just spent an hour testing it, and confirmed the same information that was provided to me from Jotform customer support: this is a bug. I hope you didn't close the bug request as this is a very important feature for me that I would REALLY like to have fixed.

The name of the pdf saved into the google drive is the same as the name of the folder created in google drive, no matter what is in the "name of pdf" field that you have shown me in your instructions.

    /Kristen

FYI the bug also exists in the DropBox integration -- the pdf is named the same as the folder name that is created.

    Hello Kristen,

Thanks for getting back to us. I'm sorry you're having trouble with this. To change the name of the submission PDF in Google Drive you would have to re-name it accordingly in the Google Drive Integration.

The PDF name which you have given in the PDF editor would only be reflected in the PDF when attached to the email.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

    Israel,

Thank you, but I have done what you suggest a long time ago (I know how to use that feature), and the request I submitted is different.

Your instructions change both the folder name AND the pdf name in Google Drive.

This means when I want 3 DIFFERENT forms to go to one Google Drive folder (I have that working, thank you), all 3 pdfs have the same name. So one scholarship applicant, SA0030, has her application form, her eligibility materials and her payment receipt pdfs all with the same names (not very helpful when reviewing her materials). I would like the pdfs to preserve the pdf names that I assigned in the pdf builder.

One representative from Jotform told me last month when I was working on this before that this is a feature request (or maybe bug? request) that he submitted to engineering.

    /Kristen

    Hello Kristen,

Thanks for clarifying the issue. Unfortunately, it is not possible to set the name of the PDFs sent to the Google Drive integration. Currently, the subfolder and PDF will both have the same name. I've gone ahead and escalated your request to our Developer Team. When or if it's developed depends on their workload, how viable it is, and how many other users request it. If there are any updates, we’ll circle back to this thread and let you know.

Reach out again if you have any other questions

    Triggerpointresetmethode,

You asked me how I managed to put multiple pdfs in the same google folder? It is very easy.

If you name the destination folder the same in the google drive integration, then multiple pdfs from multiple forms will all put themselves nicely in the same destination folder. Unfortunately they also all give themselves the same name as the destination folder as well! That's what I'd really like to have is the ability to name the pdf and the destination folders separately. So that's my feature request.

    Thanks,

    K
