Data entered into a "Text Area" field occasionally shows as HTML in email notification

    Hello,

     

    My jotform sends requests into my customer support software which does not display html in messages. As such, I have my notification from jotform into my support tool sent as plain text. However, recently, special characters entered by my users in the "Comments" field are coming over to my support tool as html code rather than the expected characters (for example ' instead of apostrophes). I've been using this setup for over a year and just recently did I start seeing this issue. Your help is greatly appreciated!

    Hi,

    I cloned your form to test it and I was able to replicate your issue.  The first image is what shows in my submission view:

    The second is what is sent to my email:

    It seems to actually happen quite frequently with apostrophes in particular.

    I have submitted a bug ticket to see what may be causing this.  We will update you in this thread when we have a resolution.

    I have the same problem, with apostrophes but especially with breaks (<br />). Any solution for this? I have tried HTML style emails and Text only emails but the characters remain.

    @ horren, Since the issue related to this question has been resolved, it would be most helpful if you could create a new thread and let us know the form you are working on, as well as the specifics of which characters are being included in the notification(a screenshot of the issue would help immensely) and we will be happy to have a look.
