Fit Text Widget is vertically cut off in Google Chrome (MAC/WIN) - SAFARI (MAC) when it's added after pagebreakAsked by AjEG on August 28, 2014 at 10:19 PM
For some reason, the 'Fit Text Widget' does not display properly after it's first occurrence. I checked the source of the preview form and I can see the difference. I show the HTML below.
<iframe onload="widgetFrameLoaded(13)" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" class="custom-field-frame" id="customFieldFrame_13" src="//widgets.jotform.io/fitText/?textmsg=Personal%20Info&backgroundColor=%23d45848&textColor=%23ffffff&shadowColor=%23d45848&font=http%3A%2F%2Ffonts.googleapis.com%2Fcss%3Ffamily%3DRoboto%2BSlab&qid=13&ref=http%3A%2F%2Fform.jotform.us" style="border: none; width: 480px; height: 91px;"/>
All Following Occurrences
<iframe onload="widgetFrameLoaded(18)" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" class="custom-field-frame" id="customFieldFrame_18" src="//widgets.jotform.io/fitText/?textmsg=Employment&backgroundColor=%23d45848&textColor=%23ffffff&shadowColor=%23d45848&font=http%3A%2F%2Ffonts.googleapis.com%2Fcss%3Ffamily%3DRoboto%2BSlab&qid=18&ref=http%3A%2F%2Fform.jotform.us" style="border: none; width: 480px; height: 48px;"/>
For some reason the first occurrence gets set to a height of 91px and all following occurrences are stuck at 48px. There are no size adjustments in the widget settings and the 'element' settings for 'width' and 'height' have no effect. If I could edit the source code that the form will use, this would be quick/easy to fix (at least of the code was static).
Any help or information about this would be greatly appreciated. BTW, JotForm is AWESOME. I have looked at and tried and LOT of web form services and while none of them are 'perfect', JotForm so far is the clear winner. Thanks for all of the hard work and focus in developing such a great and affordable service.
After playing around with this a little more I discovered that this rendering issue for the 'Fit Text' widget ONLY occurs when it is placed anywhere AFTER a 'Page Break' element (from 'Survey Tools').
Hopefully that will provide some helpful clues about how to resolve this?
Thank you for taking the time to find the cause of it. I have replicated the issue to this form: http://www.jotformpro.com/form/42401566039956. But NOTE, this issue happens only in Google Chrome. It's fine when viewed using Firefox and IE 9, 10, and 11 in Windows 7.
I have now forwarded this thread to our developers. We'll let you know via this thread when the issue is fixed.
And in behalf of the Jotform Team, thank you for wonderful words and support!
I'm sorry, I noticed that you're using Mac OS. Is that SAFARI? Or, Google Chrome in Mac OS? Will check further.
I confirmed it's cut off when using SAFARI in Mac OS and Google Chrome Mac OS. FF on Mac OS is fine. I have updated the ticket.
Thank you for your time :)
We have updated the widget - so it should no longer be cut off when the browser width changes.
Please update the widget by adding a new one - and let us know if you experience any challenges.
