Hello,
I have created a form and created the approval flow. I did not like the approval flow. I then went to my approval flows and created a flow I liked. Now when I go back to my form and delete the original approval flow, it gives me no option to select the new approval flow I need to attach. It only prompts me to create a new approval flow.
How do I connect the right approval flow to my existing form?
Thanks

Hi Kim,
Thanks for reaching Jotform. We’re sorry if you’re having trouble with updating the Approval Flow on your form. If I understand this correctly, you have set up an Approval Flow to your form before and you created an Approval Flow from the Jotform homepage. Then you want now to apply the Approval Flow you created from the Jotform homepage be applied to a specific form?
This can be achieved but you must first delete the exiting Approval Flow created on the form to avoid an error. Let me provide you a screencat on how you can add your form to the Approval Flow you created, please see it below:
- On the Approval Flow that you added, click on the Element Add Form.
- Select the form that you want to attach to the Approval Flow.
Give it a try and let us know if you have any other questions.

I don't see any "element add form" as you say in step 1.
Since I couldn't find a way to do what you said, I went into my form and settings and deleted the approval flow that is the good one from the form that is not the good one. Now it appears all the work I did to perfect the good approval form is gone as that approval flow can no longer be found under my approvals.
This is beyond frustrating. I am testing this account to evaluate the ability to create what I need with ease. If it works, we would likely purchase enterprise subscriptions. If you cannot support me even through this, I cannot make such a purchase and don't have a solution that I need.
Ugh, I have spent so much time on this...

Hello Kim,
Let us know on which form you are facing this issue and we can help you with the approval flow.
Note: Even if you directly create an approval flow from the Jotform homepage, it should be linked to a form.

Hi,
I had thought I could an approval flow once created could be used with any form I wanted. This did not work like that. I did link the approval flow to a form and then found I could not use it with any other version of the form I was working on. Again, troublesome.
What I want is for the Approval that is called "TEST of 8-10-22- Performance Reprimand Form DGR" to be linked/connected to the Form called "Use This- Performance Reprimand Form DGR".
I put alot of work into the form named above. Deleting that now because the system will not allow for it to be connected to the needed approval flow would be what has already happened to me today.
Do you have a video that addresses this specific task that I could learn from? I have watched everything I can find and nothing addresses this limitation and the order that steps need to be done in to avoid it.
Thank you,

Hi Kim,
Thanks for getting back to us and for providing the form. Can you share with us a screenshot of the Approval Flow that you want to add to your form? Check out this link for your guide on posting screenshots in the support forum.
I cloned your form and add it to the Approval Flow that I create from the Jotform Homepage. Please see the screencast below on how it was done:
We can move forward as soon as we receive a response from you.

As I said, I need the Approval that is called "TEST of 8-10-22- Performance Reprimand Form -DGR" to be used with the form you said you cloned, which should be "Use This- Performance Reprimand Form DGR".

Hello Kim,
I'm really sorry for the confusion. I have done some research and testing on my own form and unfortunately, it is not possible to switch out the approval flow of a form. The best way to do this is to recreate the workflow exactly on the form that you are working with.
I've gone ahead and escalated your request to our developers, but when or if it's developed depends on their workload, how viable it is, and how many other users also request it. If there are any updates, we’ll circle back to this thread and let you know. Thanks for your patience and understanding, we appreciate it.
