I also wanted to ask how to transfer multiple selection answers to a new form through the prefill option.

    Hello Juan,

Are your referring to Multiple Choice fields? If so, you should be able to use them in prefill. Aren't you given the options to do so on your end?

    Hello Juan,

I’m sorry you're having difficulties with this. I've checked your Approval Flow and I can see that you were able to set up the Multiple Choice field of the Information Request Form to prefill the Customer Issue Process form.

May we know if this is the correct field where you want the data to be prefilled? If not, can you please share more information about your workflow? Where do you want the data of the Multiple Choice field to be prefilled?

Let us know if there’s anything else we can help you with.

I want all the data from the Customer issue process to be prefilled to the information request form. If it can be uploaded in the same format that would be ideal!c

    Hi Juan,

Please note that only those fields added on both forms will be prefilled, i.e., they need to be the same. Otherwise, you won't be able to select those not shown in another form. I suggest checking out this article which thoroughly explains how to prefill another form within the Approval Workflow. Can you explain more about wanting to have the same format while prefilling? Are you maybe referring to the form design in general? If so, only the data will be prefilled. The rest stays the same.

Once we hear back from you, we'll be able to move forward with a solution. We appreciate your patience.

I meant that I need the exact same questions and data submitted on the first form to then be build on to the second form and so on to the second form.

    Hi Juan,

You can only pass submission data from one form to another form using the prefill feature. You would have to manually add the same questions from form 1 to form 2 in Form Builder.

Let us know if there’s anything else we can help you with.

So I would not be able to take data from form 1 to form 2 and then that same data from form 2 to form 3?

    Hello Juan,

We’re sorry if you’re having confusion about this. You can still get the data or pass the data from one form to another but you will need to create the same fields that will carry the data to the other form. an example is, if you have a Name field on form one, the data will not be passed to form two if there is no Name field. Same with all of the forms, they should have the same field added to carry the prefilled information.

Reach out again if you have any other questions.

Yes I did that, but the fields are not showing up to be selected and have the ability to be carried over

    Hello Juan,

Thank you for sending us a screenshot of your concern.

We're sorry but the prefill feature only works with having the very same field, if the field is not the same most probably it won't be able to carry over.

Perhaps, duplicating/cloning the form would work for you?

    1. If you want to clone one of your own forms, please use this complete helpful guide: https://www.jotform.com/help/27-How-to-Clone-an-Existing-Form-from-Your-Account

    2. If you want to clone someone else's form, you can use the instruction from here: https://www.jotform.com/help/42-How-to-Clone-an-Existing-Form-from-a-URL

Please note: Cloning a form only copies the form design; it doesn't copy form submissions of the original form.

I do hope this helps. If you have any further queries, feel free to get back to us.
