Help needed in order form to select jobs on selected days and redirect to PayPal

Im not sure how exactly to express what it is i would like to do, and ive had a play and am thinking its not going to be possible but basically, what i want is this (in an ideal world!).

A person wants to come to our community festival experience.

They go to the website and choose which days of the week they are going to come, there is also the option of choosing "Whole Week" which is cheaper. Each day costs towards a total. (in my experiements this has been the paypal block)

Then, depending on what day people choose, there are different jobs that people can choose using radio buttons (if this is the best way).

Cleone wants to come for the whole week, so the form allows her to choose: Washer Upper, Monday chef, Tuesday chef, Wednesday chef, Fire Warden and Saturday night Barman.

Cleone clicks Fire Warden.  A notice appears that says "please confirm that you are able to commit to this job for the full 6 days"

then she clicks yes, confirms the price and clicks submit (taking her to the check out paypal page)

If Theodore wants to come on the Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday, he can only choose: Washer Upper, Tuesday Chef and Saturday Night barman. etc.

When he chooses Saturday Night Barman he is prompted with the question "confirm you are here on the saturday"

He clicks yes and then checks out.

    Any thoughts?

    Hi,

If I have understood you properly you would like to have a PayPal checkout form which would list all of the available days together with the option of entire week.

Based on the selection of day/s different options would be available.

Are there any limitations on how many people can a specific title, or any number that applies to that position can have it ( I presume that there are limited spots for chief positions and unlimited for dish washing positions)?

Now after all of this is selected they are asked to confirm that what they entered is correct and if yes, then they are submitted to the PayPal to make the payment.

Do let me know if that is correct and in the mean time I will try to check something with my colleagues regarding this to be sure if it can be done.

    Best Regards,
    Ben

Hello, yes! in fact you added something i forgot - some way for the form to kill the jobs as they are taken up by earlier bookings.

What youve said is correct though.  But it doesnt have to be so strict - as long as the outcome is the same, i understand that no software is perfect and i might have to make compromises!

thanks for getting back to me.

I think your requirement seems to be achievable. However, I am not sure about restricting on limited spots at the moment.

I understand that a particular job is specific to a day and a person cannot choose same job for different days except for whole week. Is that correct? Please clarify.

Let me see if we can work out a demo on your requirement and get back to you. Please allow us some time to work on this. Do let us know if you have some other information.

    Thank you!!

Ok, so im now getting on with installing this and populating it out correctly.

Is there any way of taking off the jobs when people gobble them up? or have diferent prices for the different jobs?

    thanks again!

    Hi,

I am glad that you were able to get to the point where you can almost see it finished.

Do let us know what exactly you would like to achieve and we will do our best to assist :)

Is there any way of taking off the jobs when people gobble them up?

If you mean that you would like to have the job positions limited to the certain number of slots available then that is something that you could do with the "Gift Registry" widget.

Adding it would allow you to get something like you can see on this (quickly made) jotform - I wanted to see if this is the way you would like to go with.

Then based on that, modify the price and send your users to PayPal :)

This is the link to it

    http://form.jotformpro.com/form/42614046338957

To see it in action select one of the options at the top (whole week or a day) and then go to a checklist widget (this is the Gift Registry I have mentioned). Now here you should check the "Cooking team" option and you will right away see the change in the price.

I did not make any other fields change the price, just this one also changing the days or option to whole week, would cancel the gift widget because not all conditions are made to check for that, again I wanted to see if that is the right path you want to take :)

Do let us know what you think and how you would like to proceed. We could then create a better mockup or assist you finishing your jotform :)

    Best Regards,
    Ben

I guess my only other thing is that - is there a making People who only book in on mondays allowed to only get Monday option for washing up, so we dont have 10 people washing up on one day, and none on another day.  am i being greedy?

This is what ive got so far:

Also, when you have a variable to "Show" the Gift Registry, it ignore width parameter.  Think thats a bug?

No you are not being greedy :)

What we could do is set several different gift registry widgets and show each for different option. So you can have specific jobs that are only done on Monday in this widget and other jobs for Tuesday for example in another. Now based on the selected option your jotform shows different things to your visitors.

I am not entirely sure about this, I would need to check this out, but if it is a bug we will let our developers know about it. I should mention however that there are more then 1 ways to skin a cat :) (disclaimer: I am a an animal lover and would never do that). We will be able to add some CSS and set it to any width that you would like it to be at :)

Do tell me about the idea of having gift registry for each day and one for whole week as well (or for whole week shown all of the days gift registers so that they can plan every day position)?

    Best Regards,
    Ben

How could we do this efficiently?  Because some people might want just monday (5 jobs displayed) and then some people might want monday, tuesday, wednesday, and thursday - 20 jobs displayed! - maybe 8 of which would be the same job!

Thank you so much for helping me, you guys are going so totally above and beyond the call of duty!

Yes, you are right, this would not be the best approach. Let me thinker about this a bit and I will see what ideas pop into mind and will update you here on that.

hey another minor point really, in my form so far:

    http://form.jotformpro.com/form/42613379471963

it creates a big gap where there is hidden items, so takes lots of scrolling across white.  am i doing something wrong?

OK, I think that I understand what you mean by that, but I must split the thread as we only allow one question per thread. We will be replying to you about that on the thread here http://www.jotform.com/answers/431950
