How to input Lead Source w/ Salesforce integrationAsked by AndrewSCVNGR on September 18, 2014 at 02:46 PM
I'm looking to add a "hidden" field or something of the sort to my Jotform form so that I can track the lead source of the leads it creates within Salesforce.
At the moment, it seems I can only map fields from the form into fields on my leads. This is not what I want. I want every lead that comes from our Jotform to have the same lead source -- "Self-Enroll Form" -- in Salesforce. This is very important for the workflows I am building to manage these leads once they enter Salesforce. This seems like a pretty basic request, yet I cannot figure out for the life of me how to do it, nor do any of the older threads seems to show how anyone solved the same problem? I know people have had the same problem, but how did you solve it??
Any help is greatly appreciated!!
Thank you for contacting us.
It seems that we can map the Lead Source field on the Salesforce integration.
Please try the following:
1) Add a Text Box field, hide it, and add a Default Value.
2) Map it on the integration.
3) Receive the leads.
Please give it a try and let us know if you need any further assistance. We will be happy to help.
I tried that method and the default value in the text field was not passed across to Salesforce (presumably because it is just treated as placeholder text). My solution was to create a hidden select/drop down field called Lead Source with only one option (the name of the form) and choose it as the default option. This was passed through to Salesforce just fine.
Thank you for sharing your solution. If you have any issues, please open a new thread so that we can assist you.
