notify vs forward email

I am not sure if I have understood your question correctly. Do you mean to ask the difference between the notifier and auto-responder?

Notifier: It is used to send submission emails to any email address which you set in the "Recipient Email" address. Please check the following guide:  http://www.jotform.com/help/25-Setting-Up-Email-Notifications 

Auto-responder- It is used to send submission emails to the person who submitted the form. You can set any of the email field of your form to be the recipient of this email. The following guide should help you:  http://www.jotform.com/help/26-Creating-a-Form-Autoresponder
