Asked by traveldiunsa on October 03, 2014 at 01:48 PM

Hi, i setup a easy conditions for a travel quote where yo select Niños (Childs) in a spinner and so based on the number selected it would display one or more dropdowns to indicate de (Age) o each one, the way i do it is the following on the screenshot. You can see it here in action http://form.jotform.co/form/42727687143866  ¿What I am doing wrong? Hope is something easy that I am not seeing ¡Thanks!

    Hi,

While your approach was good, it was also causing issues by having the same field mentioned in several different rules.

What I would suggest is the next approach (which works).

You can see it in action here: http://form.jotformpro.com/form/42755401576962

If you want to clone it you can do that by following these steps: How to Clone an Existing Form from a URL

Do let us know if you have any further questions.

    Best Regards,
    Ben

¡Great! Thanks for the fast response, i already implemented and works well. But i am kind of confused how when we indicate that Greater than 1 show Niño 2 but hide and the same time the 3,4 and 5 fields cause you are only indicating to show one.

By the way, i insert the source code on a joomla article, do you think this es the best approach? It works well but I want to be sure

    Thanks again!

    Hi,

¡Great! Thanks for the fast response, i already implemented and works well.

You are welcome. It is great to hear that.

But i am kind of confused how when we indicate that Greater than 1 show Niño 2 but hide and the same time the 3,4 and 5 fields cause you are only indicating to show one.

This is a great question, which I did not understand at first as well when I started with JotForm. I was adding hide to each element..Now the reason why it works is because JotForm Builder is created to be as simple as possible so it knows that if you set some field to show when a certain condition is met, that if that condition is not met it should be hidden.

For this reason it will hide all fields for you as soon as your condition is not met :)

Following this it is only needed for us to set one condition for each element instead of setting it for all, allowing faster work on code and faster results :)

By the way, i insert the source code on a joomla article, do you think this es the best approach? It works well but I want to be sure

Yes, we have many ways to implement the jotform, the most recommended is using iFrame embed, but we embed on Joomla option How to Add Forms to Joomla 2.5

If it works for you then you have already done what was needed and it is good approach :)

If you need any further assistance do let us know and I should mention that if the question is not related to the original question on this thread you should open a new thread for it and we will be glad to assist you with your question :)

    Best Regards,
    Ben

Thanks, good to know how to make further conditions in the system. I am pretty sure this way works better cause Jotform i think looks for the optimum performance.

Again thanks for the help cause from here I have to make several forms to meet several requirments in our new website, take care.
