PayPal integration: Look into how jotform with PayPal works

Asked by Diego Nunez  on October 07, 2014 at 08:23 AM

Hi, I would like to know how the form created at jotform and Paypal work together. In other words the flow of this process. Lets say I create a form with name, address, some radio button, selections, notes, etc, and at the end I insert the paypal integration tool button. What happens to the information of the form? is that send to Paypal? what is semd to Paypal? where do the information go(from form) as an email to specified users? if so when?

I would like to know the process, thank you!.

    Hi Diego.

First I would like to suggest checking out our User Guides section, specifically these next articles:

    PayPal Forms

    and

How to Enable IPN for Paypal

    Now regarding your questions:

Lets say I create a form with name, address, some radio button, selections, notes, etc, and at the end I insert the paypal integration tool button. What happens to the information of the form? is that send to Paypal?

If you take a look at the first tutorial regarding the PayPal forms you can see that the widget for PayPal is separate. What happens is that only data set in the PayPal integration widget is being sent to PayPal, the other data is what you keep and is not sent to PayPal.

    what is semd to Paypal?

The data that PayPal receives depends on how you set it up, usually it is price, products ordered and the delivery address if required.

where do the information go(from form) as an email to specified users? if so when?

Once the payment is finished, or interrupted (user leaves) you get the submission data sent to your account under submissions.

Now the rest depends on your setup, if you have emails sent, then you would be sending/receiving emails and if you do not have any emails set, then nothing would be sent.

I hope that this has provided you some answers, but do let us know if you have any further questions.

    Best Regards,
    Ben
