I searched for this term in the user guide and the questions section, not sure where to get an answer. Its a part of my submisisons that i did not add and I don't know what it represents.

    Hello Kirby,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. IP address is a unique string of characters that identifies each computer using the Internet Protocol to communicate over a network. Therefore, submission ID shows the network your respondents used when they fill out the form. If you don't want to show it in your submissions page, you can simply hide it by unticking the box in the columns:

That's it. Let us know if you have any questions.

    Hello Kirby,

Thanks for getting back to us. Yes, it is the IP of the network or computer to which they are connected while responding to your form.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Is there a way to know if it's the computer or the network? I have people filling out things on phone and on computers, wifi vs data. It could be any of those 4 things being represented at any given submission?

    Hi Kirby,

Thanks for getting back to us. You can get this information from the Form Analytics page. I think you can also try the Get User agent widget would help. This basically grabs the browser and OS information of the user filling out the form. With this information, you can differentiate if the user uses a desktop, smartphones, or tablets. If that’s not exactly what you’re looking for, can you explain a bit more so I can help you better?

Once we have a better idea of what’s going on, we’ll be able to come up with a solution.
