Global Countdown widget: Not functioning the way it use to

I have two forms: A Demographics Survey and a Quiz.

Participants were led from the Demographics Survey (DS) to either a Short or Extended quiz.

On each of the two quiz forms, there was a Global Countdown Widget. It was limited to 15 minutes on the Short Quiz and 35 minutes on the Extended Quiz.

Additionally, each Quiz form has a Time Tracker Widget.

Two methods measured the time spent on the quizes:

    • A. Differentiating the Demographics Survey submission time from the Short or Extended Quiz submission time.
    • B. Using the value of the Time Tracker Widget.

The two results were usually in agreement.

In a few cases, the time spent on the quiz was longer than it should have been. Attached is an Excel file containing all of the information. Could you help me understand what happened here?

    Hello Avi,

Thanks for reaching out Jotform. We’re sorry if you’re having trouble with this on the widgets added to your forms. I’ll do my job to help you.

I checked your account here in our system and I saw forms. Can you provide us with the URLs of the forms involved in the issue? You can follow the guide from this link on getting the URLs of the forms.

In the meantime, you can try to remove the widgets and try to add them again to your form. Also, you mentioned that you attached an Excel file. It seems that it was not delivered successfully since it is not visible on our end. You can upload the Excel file on Google Drive and share with us the Public link to view the file.

We can move forward as soon as we receive a response from you.

The results file is here (Excel excerpt converted to Google Sheets on Google Drive):

As I've explained, the user goes from the Demographics Survey form (Hebrew or Arabic) to a Quiz (Short or Extended, Hebrew or Arabic).

Let us focus on the Hebrew forms:

The Hebrew Demographics Survey form is "Release He-Rel B Demographic Survey" in the "REL-HE" folder, and its link is https://form.jotform.com/222442604193450.

The Hebrew Short Quiz form is "Release He-Rel D Short Quiz" in the same folder, and its link is https://form.jotform.com/222442117065447.

The Hebrew Extended Quiz form is "Release He-Rel C Extended Quiz" in the same folder, and its link is https://form.jotform.com/222442997943468.

Please understand that I'm not interested in correcting the forms. I'm writing a research article and trying to understand what happened to my data.

    Hello Avi,

Thanks for getting back to us.

There's a couple ways I can think of to see people having times that don't match the submission times. If they save the URL that they get when redirected to the second form, they could then close the browser and enter it in at a later time and then fill out the form then. Another way is if they refresh their page, all of the data will be cleared and the global countdown widget restarts with the max time again.

Let us know if you have any other questions.
