How to convert an existing online form into a PDF?

I created several online forms and then saw the option that one can start with uploading a PDF and create the fillable form, which then converts back into the PDF.

Is there a way to convert an already created online form, that wasn't originally created as a PDF into a PDF when receiving submissions?

    Hello Mariya,

Thank you for reaching out to Jotform Support. You can convert your forms into a fillable PDF by following the steps outlined below:

    • On your forms page, you can click More on your form. Then you will select Create PDF document.

Thanks. I know this creates a pdf but is there a way to still send the online form via jot form and then it converts it onto the pdf and has it as an attachment?

it seems you can make it a fillable pdf but that’s what we would have to send people vs the jotform link.

i know if you upload a pdf and convert it, the client still gets to fill out the online form and it plugs into the pdf which is sent as an attachment.

    Hello Mariya,

Thank you for getting back to us.

I apologize for your requirement seems not being clear to me. If I understand it correctly, you wanted to have a form in PDF where you will ask your end users to fill out the form using the Jotform link. If so, unfortunately, this feature available yet. But with your current forms, once the end user completed the form and hits submit, you will get an email with a PDF attached which contains the data encoded by the end user.

If that’s not exactly what you’re looking for, can you explain a bit more so I can help you better?

    Thanks Christopher.

What I'd like to know is if I created a regular jotform for clients to fill out (not a PDF import), is there a way to receive their submission as a PDF (attachment) when I receive their email submission?

I know if I start with a PDF that I import, extrapolate the jotform fields to create a jotform, that I can send the jotform to clients, and when I receive their submission it shows me the jotform and has the original PDF also filled out at the bottom as an attachment.

Wondering if it works the other way when I didn't start with importing it.

    Hello Mariya,

Thanks for your explanation. Sure! It is possible to create a PDF Document for your non-Smart PDF Form. It's really easy, let me show you how:

    • In Form Builder, click on the menu on the top-left side of the page and open PDF Editor.
    • This will automatically prompt you to the PDF Editor where the fields will be automatically created by default depending on your Form Builder.

If you'd like, you can also customize the PDF Document depending on your liking and that's it!

Lastly, include the PDF Document that you've recently created in your Notification Settings.

    • In Form Builder, click on the Settings tab in the orange navigation bar at the top of the page.
    • In the menu on the left side of the page, click on Emails.
    • Hover your mouse over the Notification Email element and click on the Pencil icon.
    • Under the Advanced tab, toggle PDF Attachment to the On position, and select the PDF file you created.
    • Now, scroll down, click on Save, and you're done.

Now, every time your users submitted your form. It will include the PDF Document as an attachment to the Notification email.

Give it a try and let us know if you need any more help.
