How to pass value to TextArea field using URL parameter

Asked by Gizmo on October 19, 2014 at 09:52 PM

    Hi,

    http:///window=name

This opens up a pop up window textarea to enter text

However, is it possible to pass in the string to textarea via the URL

    Something like: http:///window=name&text="foo"

This is a re-post of a comment on Pass Value to Another Form with URL Encoding

    Hi,

From what I understand, this http:///window=name is a browser console command for Windows. This is not really using URL parameter value encoding.

So, this will not work http:///window=name&text="foo"  as to the technique described on the user guide

    http://www.jotform.com/help/164-How-to-Pass-Values-to-the-Text-Area-of-a-Form-via-URL-encoding

But can you please provide us more details of what you were trying to achieve. Perhaps there is a workaround we can do once we understand exactly what the requirement is.

    Thanks.
