How to handle broken file uploads?

    Hi there,

So I have a store on Shopify that handles customer file uploads through Jotform. Unfortunately I had a situation on the last one, where a file did not upload properly and I got the error below on trying to get it (happens in all browsers, no matter what I try).

I can't afford this error happening again and asking customers to reupload images. Can you advise on how I can make sure customer uploads go through each time? I can alter my form if needed. The upload process can take longer as long as I can see their uploads each time. Thank you.

    Hi,

    I apologize for the inconvenience.

There are a number of reasons why the uploaded file may become broke.

    1. During submission the user was disconnected from the internet or having network issues.

    2. The file type is not permitted or cannot be read

    3. Upload file size is not in the allowed limit

You can use the File Upload field that we have, but I believe you would like your users to see a preview of their upload right? I'm not sure which one you have already tried, but these are the available widgets that seems to be a fit of your need:

    http://widgets.jotform.com/widget/drag_and_drop_upload

    http://widgets.jotform.com/widget/image_upload_preview

But please do take note that each has it's limitations. For the default File Upload field, you can learn more about allowable file types, file size limit, changing settings, etc... Here in the following links:

    http://support.jotform.com/help/29-Upload-Field-Allowed-File-Types

    http://support.jotform.com/help/33-Changing-the-Upload-Size-Limit

As of now, the widgets works fine in my end, but if you happen to get the same error again, you can contact us immediately. I would recommend you test your forms' upload field to see if you can reproduce the problem in your end.

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks.
