Field Value inserted by conditional calculation disappear as soon as the submit button is clickAsked by im2fst4u on October 31, 2014 at 12:07 AM
I have priority conditions inserting their values into the box called Fastest lap on my form. This has functioned on my other forms but it is not working now. It will function while entering the values but once the submit button is clicked the value disappears.
Let me forward this problem to our developers. It seems like there was a bug into this certain function from the calculation widget or a conflict between the submit button.
We'll notify you here for updates.
Thank you for reporting!
Okay I've updated my form, found some bugs, corrected some related things, and got everything calculating properly except for one thing...
In any case where a lap is left empty, ex. 10 laps entered and lap 11 is empty. (No Values) after hitting the submit button the unfilled lap will fill with the value of 0 and mess things up.
To summarize here are the order of operations (values that affect the next one) here: Lap 11 > (L11-FL)^2 > (Xi-FL)^2 Totals > Variance > BCRS (hopefully this gives you an idea of how the numbers flow to understand my issue)
To cover this again, Lap 11 remains unfilled, Submit is clicked, Lap 11 becomes filled by 0. This number is calculated into (L11-FL)^2 thereby messing everything up afterwards. What I am now searching for is a way to correct this issue so no value is entered.
I found out by accident that my previous form (BCR test 2) that had no issues with this. Why was this? Because a convenient mistake made lap 11 turn up false, therefore no value. And since I was only testing the form with laps of 10 (no more no less) the error was not apparent. (wasn't broke so I didn't fix it) To clarify intent: I need this to functional for all laps, so the user can input as little or many laps as they wish.
BTW thankyou for that previous solution, quite helpful.
Glad to know that. I moved your second issue with the zero value to a new thread, please kindly follow up it here: http://www.jotform.com/answers/458619.
