Download all uploaded file in the submission

Asked by limcollege on November 03, 2014 at 09:28 AM

    Hello,

I have a form that had an image upload section. I am wondering the best way to get all the images onto our system. Is there a way to get the uplaods quickly or do I have to go into the submissions and click on each link individually?

    Thanks

    Hi,

I believe the app File Downloader is what you are looking for.

You can follow the steps below to set it up and upload the files you have.

    1. First of all, you will need to have ruby installed on your machine. If you are on a Linux/Mac, it is most likely that you have it pre-installed, and for Windows you will need to do manuall installation.

To install Ruby on Windows, you need to download the installer here:

    http://rubyinstaller.org/

After that you can check if Ruby has been successfully installed by opening a command prompt and run this code:

    ruby -v

    2. Create a folder on your computer and download downloadUploadedFiles.rb JotForm.rb files to that folder. You can get the files here: https://github.com/jotform/api-use-cases/tree/master/ruby-uploaded-files-downloader

The folder name that I have is "rubyDownloader"

    3. Open and run cmd.exe command to launch the terminal or command prompt.

Then, go to the folder with downloaded scripts using console, in my case it's the rubyDownloader, it's path is something like this:

    cd C:\Users\admin\Desktop\rubyDownloader

    4. And run the following command in order to run the download script:

    ruby downloadUploadedFiles.rb {apiKey} {formID

Where {apiKey} is your JotForm Account API Key and {formID} is the ID of the form where the uploaded files are taken from.

I hope this helps. If you need any further assistance on this, please let us know.

    Thank you.
