Stripe partial payment

is there a way to take a deposit from someone and then bill the balance later???

There's an option in properties for stripe payment to Charge Customer at a later time.

Click on Properties

Choose immediately or later under "Charge Customer"

To partially bill your customer you can the "Subscription" type and put a "First Payment" amount then charge the balance. Please check this guide https://www.jotform.com/help/166-How-to-setup-a-recurring-payment-option. The only problem with the subscription type is a recurring payment.

not sure if this answers my question..........I want to charge them immediately (deposit) AND then also charge them later (balance)

Unfortunately, this is not possible with Stripe since the subscriptions are recurring payments and have to stop them manually. However, it is possible to achieve your requirement by using PayPal subscription method.

Alternatively, you may consider receiving custom amount on the same JotForm so that the user have to submit the form twice.
