Setting up autoresponder: How to use client's name in email

    I set up the system (for the first time ever) to send someone an auto responder. 

     

    Anyway,  in the body of the email, I tried to put

     

    Dear {fullName6}

     

    But it wasn't picking up the client's name. 

     

    Is there a better way to do this?

    Hi,

    The full name field tag is often different in each jotform, so I presume that your jotform might not have it as {fullName6}, but as {fullNameX}.

    Another reason why it might not have work would be if the field is not set as required and as such not filled out.

    Now to be sure what is going on and how to resolve this, could you please let us know which jotform is set up like that and we would be happy to take a look at what is causing the issue.

    It’s the last one Elevating Your Business Publication/Consultation Request It did give me the code using the number six at the end.

    I’m still in test mode, but I removed the Dear {} etc. from the auto responder.

    Hi Maria,

    Yes, the correct field name/tag is {fullName6}. When you change the field label, that would also change its field name so make sure to update the auto responder. 

    Basically, we have a system tool that is designed to auto update the field/tags in the autoresponder/notification email body. But this tool will only work for the default formatting so since you have a custom message to your autoresponder, it didn't work anymore.
