I created a form, which I am using as an evaluation, and have had many respondents complain about not being able to move through the form past the first page. When I test it, I don't have any issues. Help!

    Hi Theresa

This is all rather puzzling because I tested the form in all of my browsers and did not experience that issue. When the "Next" button didn't work, it was because one or more of the required fields were not completed, and the warnings on each unfilled field showed up.

My tests were performed at the link you provided. Is the form embedded on a web page somewhere? If so, is it when the form is used on that page that the problem occurs?

    Looking forward to your response.

The link is not embedded, rather given to survey participants exactly the way I gave it to you, just a slightly different version of the link, also supplied by JotForm: http://www.jotform.com/form/12544431332

I am told they can't move past the first page.

    Hi theresaislo,

I tried your form and I was able to get past page 1 of your form as shown below:

However, I can see that your form's Submit button is disabled / grayed out. To resolve this, hide the disabled Submit button (using a condition) and then try to place a Submit button using the Free Text (HTML) field by using the following code:

    <input type="submit" value="Submit" />

Please visit this sample form to see the button in action (just select "No" in the first question).

Our apologies once again for the inconvenience.

Okay, I was able to produce the above fix for the submit button issue stated above. What would cause that to happen?

Is there something/info that I should ask the individuals for that are having issues moving from the first page?

    Hi Theresa,

I would like to add my two cents on this issue. I tested the form as well but could not recreate the issue, except when I disabled JavaScript in my browser.

The page break buttons are controlled by a script which is responsible for showing and hiding sections of your form. If JavaScript is disabled, or when the page break script fails to load for a reason (bad internet connection, etc), the page breaks won't work at all.

Below is a screenshot of the form with non-working scripts:

My advice would be to ask your users to enable JavaScript on their browser, or if it is already enabled, refresh the form so all scripts would load successfully.

Hope you find our responses useful. Feel free to contact us again if you have follow up questions, or if you have other issues that need attention.

Thank you very much for your continued patronage of our service!
