Inquiry regarding JotForm: Consider changing providers - have some questions

Asked by Dennis Moran  on November 14, 2014 at 06:46 PM

    1)      Can JF's web-forms be completed offline?

    2)      Is there a dashboard for Admins to see submitted forms? Can we edit these forms?

    3)      If a user is partially through a form however does not submit, does JF's capture any of the completely form data? How does the added submissions button work?

    4)      How does JF handle digital signatures? We like DocVerify. Can you integrate with them?

    5)      With our current web-form service , If we do a registration form for a webinar, it numbers each registration sequentially. This registration number shows in the subject line. Our CEO loves this. Can we do this with JF?

    6)      We have a form where people order phone numbers. Each line item for a phone number requires 3 data fields we would like presented by 1 row x 3 columns. On the PDF form there are 25 rows with 3 columns each to do this. Previous web-form we enter in total number of lines to provision in one field “total # of lines to provision” and through rules, it display as many rows as indicated “total # of lines to provision”. Programming was complex and eats up resources. We want the web-form cleaner. What are our options to do this type of form?

What is maximum number of pages perform / Fields per form, rules/conditions per form?

Also why is this formatting on this form askew - see attached screen shot

    Thank you,

    Hi Dennis,

Thank you for your interest in JotForm, it's quite hard to explain all of the features of our form builder, but you can create from a basic to an advance smart logical form. We also have a couple of App integration and widgets that you can use. To know more about JotForm please do have time to check the links below:

    -Frequently Asked Questions

    -Comprehensive User Guide Section

    -JotForm YouTube Channel Video list

I'll try to answer your questions as brief as possible, but I do suggest that you sign up for a registered account and explore the Form builder on hand.

    1) Can JF's web-forms be completed offline?

Unfortunately, this is not possible right now, our web forms are hosted and will need to have an internet connection. All data submitted will then be sent to our servers, which are highly secured, and you will then have accessed to it via your account, and you will have options how to manage and use them.

    2) Is there a dashboard for Admins to see submitted forms? Can we edit these forms?

When you log in to your account, you will have a lot of access to different features, functions and options for your forms and its data. This includes, but not limited to, editing.

    3) If a user is partially through a form however does not submit, does JF's capture any of the completely form data? How does the added submissions button work?

I believe this guide may answer that question: http://www.jotform.com/help/227-How-to-Enable-Auto-Fill-Feature

The auto fill feature works for long surveys, to where when a user accidentally closes his/her browser during the filling out the form and unable to submit, the data will then be auto filled when he re-opens the browser and the link. BUT, user will still need to click the "Submit" button to complete the form and for you to receive it.

    4) How does JF handle digital signatures? We like DocVerify. Can you integrate with them?

Unfortunately, I believe it is not supported right now. But we do have a couple of electronic/digital signature widgets here: http://widgets.jotform.com/search/signature

    5) With our current web-form service , If we do a registration form for a webinar, it numbers each registration sequentially. This registration number shows in the subject line. Our CEO loves this. Can we do this with JF?

Aside from building a form, you can also setup the email notifications, autoresponder and redirecting after the form is submitted. From your question, you can use this widget: http://widgets.jotform.com/widget/autoincrement which creates a unique ID per submission, with of course the formatting you prefer.

You can create a notification for your CEO or other personnel, including autoresponder to the one who filled out the form.

    6) We have a form where people order phone numbers. Each line item for a phone number requires 3 data fields we would like presented by 1 row x 3 columns.....

This one I'm not sure if I understand it correctly? But we do have a couple of app integrations, widgets and workarounds when using a table or spreadsheet.

Google Speadsheet- all submissions can also directly sent to a spreadsheet, you can then apply formulas, filter and sorting that you would like.

Spreadsheet Widget- you can use this to add a spreadsheet on the form, you can add values of the rows you specify.

What is maximum number of pages perform / Fields per form, rules/conditions per form?

Unfortunately, I'm not sure if we do have a limit of the number of pages/fields/conditions on a form. I've seen very long survey forms that we have but I did not see any problems on them, as long as they are properly structured and there's no condition conflicting with another. Although, I could say that some fields have limit on characters, like how many dropdown options can only be added, etc...

For the last question regarding the formatting of this answer, I believe it is only an overlap or something like a hiccup on the text editor.

I hope this helps. Again, I would like to suggest to have a registered account to fully maximize the form builder and our services.

    Thank you.
