Syncing JotForm with Salesforce using Zapier: Apostrophes are being replaced by (& # 0 3 9) characters in the text area fields

Asked by scottyslittlesoldiers on November 21, 2014 at 12:36 PM

    Hello!

As has been noted here and here, inverted commas/apostrophes entered into text area fields are being replaced with &#039  - in my instance this is occurring when using Zapier to sync the Jotform data with Salesforce.

Any chance of a quick fix on this one for us?

    Cheers!

    Hi,

As I understand, you are using Zapier integration to sync JotForm data with Salesforce right? The issue is that the apostrophes in the text area field are being replaced by these characters (&#039).

I tried checking the submissions page and excel, they worked fine. The apostrophes are showing correctly.

Did you take that screenshot inside Salesforce?

We'll be waiting for your response. Thank you for your cooperation.

    Hi!

Yeah, that's the issue - and yes, the screenshot was from inside Salesforce. When you chose which JotForm field to associate with a Salesforce field in Zapier it gives you a preview of the last data sent from JotForm which also shows the (&#039).

Another issue - although perhaps I should repost,

the multi-picklist isn't populating correctly either. I think the values need to be separated by semi-colon's or something like that.

    Hello,

To be able the understand and replicate your case, can you tell us the type of field for Brief Fundraising Description on your SalesForce account?

I've made a test lead submission with 3 types of custom fields (text, textarea, rich text) and all fields were able to show properly the correct apostrophe

    Thanks.

Hi, it was a text area field - I've just tested it again and this issue seems to be fixed! It's working fine. Not sure if something got fixed your end or if it was a problem my end to start with.

Thanks for looking into it for me!
