Required button is causing cut-off view in JotForm

Asked by lrobinson on December 01, 2014 at 12:41 PM
This is the first form I have designed with you all and I am still learning, as you can tell.  I had a lot of required items, but realized that a potential applicant could not see the whole form without filling it out.  So I took the required buttons off.  I would like them to be able to see the whole thing before they start answering questions. Was that the only way to do it?

    Hi,

You should be able to see all of the fields on your jotform displayed no matter if they are set as required or not. I have cloned your jotform and it seems that there are no issues with it once there are required fields added.

Could you please set the jotform to the state where you were faced with the issues (you can create a clone of your jotform and do it on the clone instead).

Also, if you are testing the jotform on your own website (embedded) do give us the link to see what could be causing the issue.

This will allow us to better understand the issue.

    Best Regards,
    Ben

http://fefboard.weebly.com/ is the website where the form is posted.  I was able to change the color as you suggested so the preview and the actual form are the same, but on the website it is not letting me move from one page to the next.  I did not yet put back the required boxes.  Can you look on the website and see why it is not letting me move from one page to the next.  Thanks.

    Hi,

Yes, I see now. You should use iframe embed option instead of js embed option.

This will make it work properly on your jotform. I presume that the way it was implemented was the same cause for the issue with the required fields as well.

The reason why it happens is that the code on your website was conflicting with the code on jotform, making some of the code not function properly.

Do let us know however how it goes after embedding the jotform using iframe method.

    Best Regards,
    Ben

Now it is scrolling, but you will see the issue with the remaining required item I must have missed. It wont let anyone proceed.

    Hi,

I took a look at your jotform and from what I can see it is working properly.

Now I did see 1 required field (Which best describes the focus of your grant proposal?) and it did not allow me to skip to next page until I checked a box under it, but this is what it is supposed to do.

The required fields will not allow you to continue until you fill out all the fields that you have on the jotform or that section of jotform.

Do let us know if we are missing something and the steps to recreate so that we can better understand what is the issue.

I would however like to suggest that you clear your browser cache and I will clear your jotform cache, just to rule out them as the ones making problems.

    Best Regards,
    Ben
