Fill out entire form and omit entering the Phone Number and U.S. Citizen fields on the Step 1 section.
Submit the form.
The form does not flag the Step 1 section as missing some fields. On Chrome, it at least notifies you that there are some errors on the submitted form. On IE, no error response.

Thank you for contacting us.
Have you managed to resolve the issue? The form validation looks fine in Internet Explorer and other browsers on my side.
If the issue still persists, please let us know.

Yes - it is flagged as shown. But proceed on to the next Sections (Steps 2 - 6) without entering those two fields and hit the Submit button. Try in IE.

Hi,
I also could not reproduce the reported issue when I test in your website.
Using IE browser.
If I omit the 2 mentioned fields in Step #1, I cannot submit the form.
I also checked the existing submission data of your jotform http://www.jotform.us/form/42797119648166
but so far nobody have submitted yet the form without answering the Phone Number and US Citizen question on the form
Perhaps the problem is with your current IE browser only? Have you tried using a different computer that have IE browser installed so you can also test if it has the same issue?
Hope this help. Inform us if issue remains.
Thanks.

I figured it out. I had deployed it on my plain HTML webpage (non-WordPress) with the WP code you had given me. I redeployed it with the normal script code.
Although it now shows the yellow exclamation point on the Step 1 section if a required field is missing, the problem is that that portion of the webpage is not visible when you are on Step 6. So, all the user sees when at the bottom of the form is that they click the Submit button but are not given any indication of the fact that there is an error on the form. I skipped entering the Zip, Phone number and U.S. Citizen fields in Step 1. (When using solely the mouse to traverse through the form, required fields will not necessarily get highlighted.)
So, missing some required fields on Step 1 (probably on any step), whether using Chrome or IE, no error response provided when clicking Submit.
And, yes, you don't see any evidence of people submitting the application from the forms submitted, because the users can't submit the form without all required fields getting entered. But they are clueless as to why the form does not get submitted due to not seeing an error response -- or at least not seeing the yellow exclamation points on sections of the webpage which are not visible to them when at the bottom of the form.

I was able to reproduce the issue with blinking required validation message on your form.
It appears that there is some conflict between widgets on form and mentioned validation warning. Please remove the Form Separators in order to fix this.
You can also add the separators manually with the Text tool.
Here is the HTML code:
<div style="border-top-width: 3px; border-top-style: dashed; margin: 5px 6px; border-top-color: rgb(0, 0, 102);"></div>
The widget conflict issue has been escalated to our Development Team, and we will let you know once it is fixed.

OK. I took off the separators. And I get an error response now -- thanks. However, it would be nice if it would show the yellow exclamation point on the offending Step with the missing data. :-(

Hi,
If there are incomplete required data within the collapse, the exclamation point will also prompt alert the user on the collapse field (Step)
then if you open the Step, you will see which data are missing or required to be answered.
Is this not what is happening when you checked on your side?
Inform us if there are still issue.
Thanks.

Chrome behaves properly.
Internet Explorer: Gives the error response "There are errors on the form. Please fix them before continuing" However, does not provide the Yellow Exclamation point on the offending Section.

Hi,
Our colleague Mike_T have already submitted a bug ticket report to our higher team regarding the blinking validation message error related to the widget.
We will notify you here once we have update on the fix.
Thanks.

I created a separate post regarding the next question here http://www.jotform.com/answers/468435

Hello,
We apologize for the inconvenience this caused you.
You can now use the form separators with your form - the widgets should not affect the error message as before - the issue is now fixed.
Kindly check - if you have further difficulty, please let us know.
Cheers!
