Changing Excel & CVS Spreadsheet time stamp options

When I upload an xlsx or cvs file of survey responders, the timestamp in the cells looks like: 2014-12-02 14:20:23

When I click in the cell to edit it, (in xlsx or cvs format, using google docs or office libre) it looks like: 12/2/2014 14:20:23

After I save the file to xls, the type of file my database can read, the date stamp stays 2014-12-02.

For the purposes of uploading the data to my database using scripts, I need the date format to be in forward slashes "/" instead of " - "

    ...any advice?

    Thank you for contacting us.

You can easily change the date format on downloaded .xlsx file via Google Spreadsheets and Microsoft Excel. Unfortunately, the Google Spreadsheets service does not support saving with the .xls format anymore, but it is supported in Microsoft office.

Can you check if this is possible to change the date format and save the file as .xls in LibreOffice?
