How to automatically print form upon submission

Print and Submit form data at the same time.

Is it possible to automatically print the completed form when a user clicks the "Submit" button?  I would like them to walk away with a physical copy of the form for their records after they have filled out the required data fields and agree to the terms and conditions.  Thanks in advance!

    Hi,

That might be possible (to some extent) if you were to take the jotforms source code and implement this by yourself (or through a hired developer), but in jotform they would need to click on the print button instead.

I would however suggest to only give them opportunity to print, but not force it because some people have issues with their printers which might cause them to get all sorts of errors when submitting your jotform, or if someone is a late night worker, might wake up people around him/her because of the unexpected printing and so on.

You can always include a link to a PDF version of the jotform that they had submitted so that they can print it at any other time or place - based on their preferences.

    Best Regards,
    Ben

Thanks for your input Ben.  I would like to use this at our location as a way to build an electronic customer data base and use the printed form in another part of the sales process.  It would be nice to have it print real time instead of waiting for an email for a Customer Service Rep to print.    It would not be available to the general public or be accessible outside of our locations.  With it printing to our hardware we could hopefully dial it in to print to give us a single page with just the data needed for the next step in the sales process.

Any was you can think to design it to give the same or similar functionality would be greatly appreciated.  It is possible to put conditions to the submit button to try to let the customer know to print the form before submitting?

    Thanks!

In this case you might try automatically printing the form email alert with submission data. The idea is to set a form Email Notification configured with a special email printing recipient. There are some links to related software and services:

    Automatic Printing Tools for Windows

    Automatic Email Manager

    Automatic Print Email

    HP ePrint

If you would like to use this option, you can also add some text message about the auto printing to your form Thank You page.
